Events
Scratch+Sniff events take place on either the third or fourth Tuesday of every month in East London at The Book Club in Shoreditch, London though we run one off specials at other venues.
Tuesday 14th February 2012
Temptresses, Lotharios and the Scented Siren
8.00pm at The Book Club
100 Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4RH
Tickets £17 including a glass of prosecco.
Calling all femmes fatales, philanderers, rakes and vamps.
For this Valentine’s special of Scratch+Sniff, your host Odette Toilette will take you on a decadent perfumed journey to encounter history (and myth’s) most infamous figures of temptation. Get to know the scent of Mata Hari, the Highwayman, Catherine the Great, Byron, Don Juan and many more seducers and seductresses as we speculate on their fragrance choices and the links between character archetype and perfume.
You may leave swooning from olfactory deliciousness.

Tuesday 20th March 2012
The Aroma and Art Attack Special
7.30 pm at The Book Club
100 Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4RH
Tickets £20 including art materials and glass of wine
This Scratch+Sniff one-off is a rather different event to the usual format, and is for those of you who want to take your experience of the senses to the next level.
You most certainly do NOT need to be ‘good’ at art, but be prepared to get stuck into a workshop where perfume is the fuel for creativity. Think lifedrawing but where fragrance replaces the body – We’ll be giving different perfumes their own shapes, colours, portraits (plus more secret surprises), so come on down, have some wine and explore the further reaches of olfactory perception with Odette Toilette and the inimitable Martin Holme, a scent and creativity expert who is one of our most popular EVER speakers and who will host you through the experience.
Tickets include a glass of wine and all art materials. Numbers strictly limited so do book soon. And dahlin’s, don’t worry about wearing overalls, we’re not using messy paints.

Tuesday 17th April 2012
The Scent Speakeasy
7.30pm at The Book Club
100 Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4RH
Tickets £12
Give the special knock at the door for your seat at Odette Toilette’s Scent Speakeasy, an illicit den of fragrant fun in which we will be sampling perfumes which you can’t buy on the shelves.
Many of them contain lost or banned ingredients like Storax or Angelica, or are made by underground perfumers working away behind closed doors, or simply are too extreme in odour to be let out in public.
With prohibition-era cocktails to quaff as we experience our secret perfume selections, you’ll also be able to meet some of the perfumers to find out about the creative inspiration behind their compositions. With names like ‘Lion Cupboard’ and ‘Evil Max’, who could resist?
One final thing: Al Capone will not be in residence.

Scratch+Sniff are delighted to announce a new series of events taking place in the Scent Salon at Les Senteurs’ new shop in London’s Marylebone.
On a Saturday afternoon every other month, The Vintage Sessions offer a chance to really immerse yourself in a specific period of fragrance history. We’ll experience many of the scents originally created at that time for both men and women, in conjunction with discovering links with the wider social, artistic, literary, fashion, even culinary contexts.
With bellinis, delightful cakes, vintage cocktail dresses displayed by the marvellous Juno Says Hello, and plenty of sampling, the Vintage Session are highly indulgent events for noses of all persuasions. Afterwards Les Senteurs have very kindly offered each guest a £10 voucher to spend upstairs in the shop.
